Happy Birthday Phi!

I never thought I'd be a sorority girl. Now I can't imagine how my life (both during and after med school) would have been without it.

I have learned so much, and experienced so many things I never would have otherwise. I have met so many wonderful, like-minded people, and have discovered that I could have more in common with unlikely individuals than I dared imagine.

Apart from excellence, leadership, service and sisterhood (the four core values of our sorority), Phi taught me that there can be great reward for taking chances, especially when you take a chance on people.

Happy birthday Phi Lambda Delta, you are the best decision I ever made. And to my batchmates and pseudo-batchmates, I love you, you girls are awesome. :)

Boys' Night Out

I have always been one of they boys as long as I can remember.

Which isn't exactly good for the lovelife (instant friend zone!) but meant a lot of really good times. I swear, I have fun with my girlfriends watching chick flicks and having sleepovers, but with the boys I can be rowdy and crude and no one's going to tell me to please behave and that's the bomb.

Last night I had a boys night out with three of my guy friends from med school, and our activity was, tadaaaa... talking about deep and serious shit while having a few drinks and relaxing in a hot spring pool. Did I mention the pool was INSIDE our room?:P

31 December 2009

Hello 2010. :)

Years come and go, and so do a lot of people. Everything seems to change too fast - we cheer our triumphs one moment then cry over our frustrations the next, we fall in and out of love, say our hellos and then our goodbyes. We fear and we get excited by the changes that come with each year; but we are most grateful for the things we know will always stay the same.

To everyone who played a part in my life this year, no matter how brief your participation (hehe), thank you. 2009 was better spent because of you. :) To those I consider the constants of my universe, I welcome 2010 gladly knowing you always have my back.

I'm happiest knowing these things remain unchanged:

HIGHSCHOOL FRIENDSHIPS. IMED TRADITIONS. THE PHI HIGH. SSS. KENN'S PALSY. FAMILY -- IN AND OUT OF THE HOSPITAL.

Every year spent with you is a great one. Happy 2010! :)
